Find Your Niche; Find Your Guru; Crush It

Have you noticed how many people are “crushing it”?

NESKateMcSheaIt seems that each one has found their niche and their approach to doing business.

I believe Tony Robbins has it right.

Have you found your person to copy?

Are you comfortable doing what they did?

Here is what I have learned. There are people whose success I would like to have; but I can’t and don’t want to do what they did to achieve it.

In my network marketing company there were lots of folks “crushing it.” I listened to each one. I followed or tried to follow each one’s training.

You know what?

I felt awkward with some approaches and I felt comfortable with others. After a time I realized that what worked for some didn’t work for me and my personality type.

Did that make them wrong?

Did that make me a failure?

No! Absolutely not!

I just had to find the person whose success approach I could duplicate.

So do you.

And when we are training our team we need to understand that each individual needs to find their guru just as surely as they need to find their niche.

How do we train them to do that?


First, (2)First, you let them know that you have your approach; and that other members on your team (up line, down line and cross line) have a variety of approaches.

Of course, you must help them differentiate between company policy, government rules and style of recruiting.

Obviously, there is little wiggle room with policy and regulations.

Thankfully, there is a lot of wiggle room with recruiting and prospecting style.

Copy of First,Second, introduce them to the team that they should be observing. I think that if you do that; and if you are comfortable with the possibility of someone else mentoring your recruit; you will be happy with the results.

It’s important to have a good working relationship with the team members you introduce. If you feel that someone doesn’t share your integrity, leave them off the list.

But don’t exclude those whose approach is different than yours. Your new recruit may be needing that exact approach.

Using Lisa’s method, you can help your new recruit earn income quickly and see that the business plan does work.

At the same time, you can introduce the various team members and your recruit can get to know them. Your job will be to facilitate any transition needed.

In a healthy team, you will return the favor and no one will feel taken advantage of.

Copy of Copy of Copy of First,You will keep as close a relationship with your new recruit as they need. That will be determined in part by how close you were before the business relationship.

Your role should be to recognize and celebrate their successes. I have observed how important recognition is as a motivating factor. You are in business for the financial earnings. But you are motivated to do the work of the business by the recognition you receive.

Why else do people work so hard to “walk across stage?”

Just as important is your role as accountability partner.

  • You invited this friend, family member, acquaintance or stranger to join you in a business that is hard.
  • You learned what their “why” was.
  • You learned “what” they were willing to do to get their “why.”
  • When you don’t observe them following through with what they said they would do, you ask them if they still want their “why”.

Help them figure out why they aren’t following through. Help them reevaluate what they want, if necessary. Primarily, make them understand that they are the only one who will be able to do what they need to do.

I am blessed with an industry leading company, an innovative product line and great supportive team. But for me I needed to get an edge in using the internet and social media. Fortunately, I have a team that is supportive of that.

As our society and culture change, so do network marketing practices need to change. I was pretty much forced by circumstances to seek new skills and methods.

It took trial and error to find what works for me.

It involved Tony Robbins quote. I had to find who was being successful and start copying what they did. But I had to try on several before I found what fit.

I had to find my niche and my guru before I could hope to crush it.

I have found my niche and guru. I am copying what they do. I have found my way to be successful.
