It’s Not If You Can; It’s If You Will

Success is not about having the ability and skills needed to succeed.

It’s about having the will to do what is necessary to succeed.

I used to tell family and friends considering joining me as a network marketer, “You could do this.”

And they could. I saw in them skills and personality traits that I lack. I knew that if I could do it, they could do it. Acting on my belief, some of them signed up but never succeeded.

Success isn’t so much about being the brightest, most gifted.

It’s more about being the hungriest.

In sports, upsets are common because the most talented athlete has already achieved acclaim. When a newcomer, who has the burning desire to be champion even though untested, there is no contest. The newcomer embarrasses the veteran.

Network marketing requires some skill and knowledge and a lot of perseverance and courage.

If you are unwilling to step out of your comfort zone, success will be a lot harder to achieve. If you are unwilling to use specific techniques of the industry, success will be a lot harder to achieve.

It can be done. But it probably won’t be done.

I can recognize the skills needed to succeed in this profession. I can’t tell if someone has that burning desire to do what it takes.

So now I say, you could do this, but I don’t know if you will.
